You are invited to the next WPCLN Sustainable Farming discussion group at Cambroe Farm at Yannathan.
Evan & Kellie sharefarm on 186ha milking approx 480 dairy cross cows at Yannathan.
The farm is run pretty conventionally, and Evan attended the first regenerative agriculture training program in 2020. Over the past 3 years Evan & Kellie have been trialing a biological approach on 25ha (10 paddocks) of the farm. This approach has incorporated foliar sulphate based fertilisers, fish humic products, liquid urea, and lime. These have been applied through a Tow and Fert machine. The incorporation of chicory also features. The results are being compared with the more ‘conventional’ system, through observation and soil testing. They have recently planted 6 shelterbelts which are growing well.
Evan & Kellie will talk about the learnings so far, and show us the pastures, and livestock. An interesting morning is assured!
