Discussion Groups

The WPCLN currently runs 3 diverse discussion groups which anyone is welcome to participate in.

  1. Sustainable Farming Discussion Group
This group meets regularly on local farms. A different topic is covered each time we meet with the topics decided by the participants. These could include; managing wet soils, aeration, pasture id, pasture management, weed control etc. This group is targeted towards grazing farmers (primarily beef & sheep) and we try to focus on sustainable farming topics! Information notes are produced occasionally and these can be found here. If you would like more information please contact Peter at peter@wpcln.org.au
  2. Organic Vegie/Fruit Growers Discussion Group
This group meets bi-monthly on a local organic fruit or vegetable farm. You don’t have to be certified organic to attend, but the group is specifically geared to meet the needs and interests of farmers growing organic vegies/fruit. This group was established in 2015 and provides a wonderful opportunity for organic growers to meet and learn from others. Information notes are produced occasionally and these can be found here. If you would like more information please contact Peter at peter@wpcln.org.au
  3. Biodiversity Discussion Group
The Biodiversity Discussion Group comprises field days or workshops held on an occasional basis. The workshops cover a range of Biodiversity focused topics including Frogs, Reptiles, Platypus, Fungi, Scats & Tracks, Nest Box Building etc. Keep an eye on our Calendar or sign up to our newsletter to keep informed.
