Zero Emissions Farming – Towards 2050 Conference

Whilst agriculture is a key source of greenhouse gas emissions, farms also have significant potential to capture and store carbon from the atmosphere in carbon sinks such as trees and soils.
This one day conference will explore the benefits of zero-emission farming, showcasing the latest research and technology information, and industry progress towards CN2050.

Keynote speakers include;
Richard Eckard, Professor & Director Primary Industries Climate Challenges Centre, University of Melbourne
Graeme Anderson, Climate Specialist Agriculture Victoria
Katie McRobert, General Manager Australian Farm Institute

Other Presenters include;
Meat and Livestock Australia – Carbon neutrality in the red meat industry
Mornington Peninsula Vignerons  – approach to wine sustainability (Tyson Lewis)
Blue Carbon Lab, Deakin University – Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from Australian farm dams
Agroforestry – multiple benefits of trees on farms (Rowan Reid and Andrew Stewart)
Commonwealth Bank – Agribusiness banking approach to risk and opportunities in carbon farming Kate Wallis (Executive Manager, Agribusiness Banking,)

When: Wed 7th November
Where: Tucks Restaurant, Red Hill South (or online for those who can’s attend in person)
Time: 10am-4pm (from 9am for face to face attendees)
Catering: provided for face to face attendees

Face to Face and online registrations open Friday 22nd October
Landholders in Mornington Peninsula, Casey and Cardinia will receive priority access to tickets for the face to face event. If you are a landholder in one of these areas, email karen.thomas@ppwcma.vic.gov.au to receive an early access code on the 19 October.

This is a COVID Safe event, capacity limits apply and in-person attendees must be fully vaccinated and able to provide and prepared to show their vaccination certificate prior to entry.
