You are invited to the next WPCLN Sustainable Farming discussion group at Orchard End farm at Bayles focusing on insect pest management in multi species pastures.
PLEASE NOTE THIS SESSION WILL BE HELD IN THE AFTERNOON
Tony & Sue will be our hosts and look forward to welcoming us to their farm.
In partnership with Melbourne Water, Tony & Sue have been monitoring the impact that multi species pastures have on Lucerne Flea and Red Legged Earthmite. They have been supported by Jessica Page from Biological Research Company, and Jade Killoran who specialises in Multi Species pastures. Both Jessica and Jade have been monitoring the pastures for the past year, and will talk about what they have learned to date.
Tony will also share his thoughts, and Karen Thomas from Melbourne Water will be present. We will look at the demonstration site, and might even view pasture cuts to measure yield.
Bring your coat & boots in case it is wet, and please ensure your boots are clean before arriving. We will use a footbath on arrival. There is a large shed where we will meet, so even if the weather is wet, we will be able to have some shelter.
