Sustainable Farming Disc Group – Piedmont
November 21, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Our final Sustainable Farming discussion group for 2018 will be held on Wed 21st Nov at Caroline & Peter Van Oosterom’s Hemp Hills Creek Farm at Piedmont (just near Noojee).
Caroline & Peter are young enthusiastic farmers who purchased their farm 4 years ago and are trialling some really interesting and innovative practices.
They run Square Meaters which is an Australian beef breed and have been implementing some of Joel Salatin’s principles including grazing pigs and chickens as part of the rotation. There was been some interesting learnings as part of that grazing regime.
They have big dreams for the property & recently planted 2500 native trees and also just established a walnut grove interspersed with silver wattles.
There will be lots to see and discuss on the farm walk!
