Selling produce online in the time of COVID and beyond

August 20, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The Mornington Peninsula Market Gardeners Farmer Discussion Group is running a virtual discussion with guests Kirsten Larsen and Robert Collyer.

It would be an understatement to say that COVID-19 has shaken up food supply chains and distribution models! At the same time consumers have a heightened sense of urgency for sourcing fresh produce and supporting local businesses.
As primary producers and food makers navigate the constantly changing landscape we find ourselves in two online platforms you might be considering as a way to reach your consumers are Open Food Network (OFN) and the Victorian Country Market (VCM).

Co-founder of OFN Kirsten Larsen will join us to introduce their non-for-profit, open source platform, discuss opportunities for MPP producers to sell individually or in groups, and answer any questions you might have. Also joining us is Robert Collyer from RASV. Robert has been involved in setting up the VCM, powered by the Victorian Government, earlier this year (during lockdown 1.0).

We would also love to hear from any producers already operating through an online platform so please join us to share your experiences!
