Rapid Soil Assessment Tool Field Day discussion over Zoom

June 26, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are hosting this exciting event over Zoom. We will explore the Rapid Soil Assessment Tool (RSAT) and how you can use this simple in-paddock assessment to further inform your nutrient and pasture management decisions.

Agronomist Chris Alenson who helped develop the tool will be guiding us through the RSAT process. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and discuss how you found the RSAT process on your farm.

In preparation for this event you will be required to watch a series of RSAT videos (30 mins) and also have trialled the use of the RSAT on one of your own paddocks (up to 2 hours).

The videos can be found here;

To ensure enough time is available for you to undertake event preparation activities, registrations are essential by Friday 12th June 2020.

RSVP to Joel Geoghegan on joel.geoghegan@basscoastlandcare.org.au or phone on 0409 705 652 for the Zoom login details. Joel will also provide participants with the Rapid Soil Assessment Tool and the sampling instructions that will guide you through the use of the RSAT tool. We encourage you to undertake an assessment in one of your paddocks prior to our Zoom event. We would also like to be given access to your observational results so we can coordinate a comparative discussion of everyone’s assessments over Zoom. If your happy to do so please email me a scanned completed RSAT form prior to our Zoom meeting, by Wednesday 24th June.

Good luck with undertaking your own Rapid Soil Assessment in the Paddock prior to our Zoom event. We look forward to your observations and feedback.
