Native Vegetation Beneficial Insectarium Farm Walk – Cockatoo

March 24, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

What does the insectarium look like 6 months after planting and what have we learnt from the spring/summer IPM monitoring?

In September 2016, we ran some workshops to provide the research. Six months after the first trial site was planted, we are holding a farm walk to check its progress:
 What plants are growing well?
 Which plants have flowered?
 Matching flowering times with the presence of beneficial insects
 What have we observed with the insect monitoring?
 What have we learned?

Speakers:
Karen Thomas- Port Phillip & Westernport CMA – Setting up an insectarium on a horticulture farm
Linda Thomson- Melbourne University – Analysis of spring/summer monitoring at the trial site

When: Friday 24th March
Where: 11 Fielder Rd, Cockatoo (enter at the farm gate and park in main carpark)
Time: 10:30am-12:30pm, finishing with lunch
