All group participants are welcome to attend our first ‘virtual’ farm walk!
Unfortunately as a group we currently can’t meet in a physical sense, so in this interim period we will meet ‘on-line’ to keep us connected, and to support & learn from each other!
So how will this work?
We are videoing a group participant & the host farmer will take us on a farm walk & talk about their farm! The 15-20 minute video will be put on YouTube & then a few days later we will have an online chat (with Zoom) to ask the farmer questions, see each other & share how we are all managing.
Our first farm walk is with Wendy at Gawler Foundation.
Wendy & Ben grow organic vegetables on 1 acre along with a poly tunnel to feed the participants attending the retreat who are profoundly challenged by illnesses such as cancer, Parkinsons disease & Multiple Sclerosis. Wendy will show us the gardens and also discusses challenges she has faced such as nutgrass control on organic farms. This is a great video & Wendy’s passion & love for organic farming shines through. Enjoy!
