Communities worldwide have begun to appreciate the social and economic benefits of trees and green spaces.
The Baw Baw Significant Tree Strategy is a collaborative project of the Committee for Drouin, Landcare, the local history group, Baw Baw Shore Council and the Drouin community. The aim is to identify individual trees, groups of trees and vegetation considered to be valuable – resulting in the Drouin Significant Tree Register.
The Baw Baw Shire Council is now encouraging other towns to develop a similar register. If you would like to hear more, join us for an open house with Judy Farmer and Peter Ware from the Friends of Drouin Trees.
A free event but please register to attend – Phil Darton, Secretary, Neerim District Landcare.
