Organic vegie/fruit growers discussion group – Grand Ridge Organics

April 5, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

You are invited to attend the next organic vegie/fruitgrowers discussion group at Richard & Rosemary’s ‘Grand Ridge Organics’ farm on Wed 5th April.

Richard & Rosemary grow prize winning organic garlic (some 30,000 cloves per year), fresh fruit and vegetables, and value add their produce through creating certified Organic Jams, pickles, sauces and chutneys.

Their 20 acre farm could best be described as a food forest on the edge of the Tarwin River. As you wander the paths you come across row crop areas with green manure crops, hundreds of fruit and nut trees, daffodils, revegetated areas, and approx 100 free range chickens! The farm integrates agriculture and biodiversity and this will be a central theme of the session.

All farmers are welcome to attend this very interesting farm and hear their story. While we are there, Richard will demonstrate several methods of incorporating green manure crops into the soil using a 3point-linkage power spader.

Where: Grand Ridge Organics
70 Mirboo-Yarragon Rd, Allambee South (parking at the Allambee Sth Community Centre across the road) https://goo.gl/maps/UfZgTeHTcAq46bCJ7
