The next Morn Pen Farmer Discussion Group will focus on the benefits of Dung Beetles and will be hosted by Dr Russ Barrow from Charles Sturt University, a researcher with the ‘Dung Beetles Ecosystem Engineers’ project, monitoring the distribution, abundance and diversity of dung beetles across various climatic zones.
Russ monitors over 100 intensive surveillance sites to definitively establish where various beetle species have adapted regionally and
become successfully established. Russ will talk about the research he is involved in, and we will discuss suitable species for the Mornington
Peninsula region and how to manage these ‘livestock’, and all things dung beetles!
