Morn Pen Farmer Disc Group – parasites in livestock

You are invited to our next discussion group which will have a ‘Livestock parasite’ focus.
Grant Richards from Parasite Diagnostics will be talking to us about parasites and the importance of FEC to assess worm burdens and targeted control. We will learn how to reduce and manage parasite numbers through the different seasons and identify when your livestock are most at risk.
We have 7 spots left if you would like to submit a sample from your mob/selected paddock/class of livestock (sheep or cattle) and we will cover the cost of one FEC test per farm for up to 15 farms. Kits can be picked up from Parasite Diagnostics at 3 Bray St Hastings. Samples must be taken on the day or the day prior to dropping off to me or the lab on the Monday 14th October, in order to have results for the discussion day. Please drop your samples off to me at 6 Seascape Ave Balnarring, or direct to the lab labelled for our discussion day testing – we are testing all samples as a group.
We will also do a farm walk so bring a coat, hat & boots & anyone else who would be interested!
